Cutscenes definition
My recent school project deals with ‘all about’ cutscenes in video games. Are there too much or too little of them?
A cutscene is a short break in a video game, usually animation or a movie, which mainly forwards the action. Sometimes it is used to present characters’ development, dialogues or clues.
Cutscenes streamed from a video are often referred to as full motion video (FMV).
Cutscenes, as animation generated in the real time by the games’ engine, very often contain interactive elements (QTE).
